50 shillings 140 acres Brushy Fork of Abbots Creek

To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting.
Know Ye that we for & in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every
hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Frederick Miller Senr have
given & granted to Frederick Miller Senr a tract of land containing one hundred &
forty acres lying & being in our county of rowan on the Waters of Brushey Fork of
Abbots Creek

Beginning at a Chestnut the South East corner of Adam Harmans lot.
Thence South thirty eight chains to a post Oak the corner of Jacob Jouk's {Houk)lot
Thence west thirty seven chains to the Moravian line
Thence North thirty eight chains to the said Harmans line
Thence east on said line Thirty Seven chains to the Beginning.
As by the plat hereunto annexed Doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines,
Minerals, hereditaments  appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining:
To hold to the Said Frederick Miller Senr. his heirs & assigns for ever; Yielding &
paying to us Such sums of money yearly or Otherwise as our General Assembly from
time to time may Direct. Provided Always that the said Frederick Miller Senr Shall
cause this Grant to be Registered in the Registers Office of or Said County of Rowan
within twelve months from the Date hereof  Otherwise the Sam Shall be Void & of no
effect.

In Testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent & our Great
Seal to be hereunto affixed.

Witness Richard Caswell Esq: & C at New Bern the 17th Day of December in the 10th
year of our Independence & in the year of our lord 1785.
