Bauer A Letter From Valentine Hunter to His Cousin James Beeman This transcription of an old letter includes misspellings, punctuation (or I should say lack of it), and grammar used by the writer, Valentine Hunter of Franklin Co., Missouri. The letter is to his cousin James Beeman of Greene Co. Illinois, and is dated 28 Mar 1828. Both of these men were born in Rowan Co., North Carolina. The original letter is in the possession of William E. Beeman, 1406 W. Tucker Blvd., Arlington, TX 76013, who is a descendant of James Beeman, through his son Samuel Beeman. The contributor is a descendant of James Beeman through his daughter Lydia (Beeman) Hill. Charles Hunter, father of the letter writer was a brother of Margaret Hunter who married John Beeman, and they were the parents of James Beeman. To Mr. James Beamond, Illinois, Greene County. State of Missouri Franklin County Deare Cousin I now take this opportunity to inform you that I am well at present hope these few lines will find you and yours in the same state March 28, 1828 of helth as for news I have much worth relating onley I wish to in form you that I am a sun of your uncle Charley Hunter’s in N.
