Rowan County, NC - John Blue Revolutionary War Pension, 1833 ~~~~~~~~~~ October 24, 1925 Susie B. Buchanan Brandon, Miss. Madam: I have to advise you from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim S.6655 it appears that John Blue was born in 1757 in Rowan County, North Carolina. While residing in said Rowan County, he enlisted in 1779 and served five months as a private in Captain James Craig's Company, Colonel Francis Locke's North Carolina Regiment and in 1781 he served three months as private in Captain Brandon's North Carolina Company. He was allowed pension on his application executed August 24, 1832 while a resident of Rowan County, North Carolina. There is no data on file as to family. The above noted John Blue is the only soldier of that name found on the Revolutionary War records of this Bureau who served in the North Carolina Troops.
