While a resident of Rowan Co., NC, he enlisted in 1780 and served 3 months as a private in Capt. Sam'l Reed's Comp., Col. Look's NC Reg. and was in the battle of Camden. He enlisted in 1781 and served 3 months in Capt. John Bickerstaff and Simmon's Companies, Col. Graham's NC Reg. and was in an engagement at Raft Swamp, NC. He was allowed pension on his application executed 9/4/1832, while a resident of Simpson Co., Kentucky. He died 6/5/1840. Soldier married in 11/1783 or 1784, Mary Graham of Rowan Co., NC, who was born 12/22/1765. He was allowed pension on her application executed 12/4/1840, while a resident of Simpson Co., Kentucky.
