Salisbury World: Young Sam Jones of the Vance cotton mills, may die as a result
of a sportive disposition on the part of a friend which manifested itself last
week. Young Jones was in the mill when a friend playfully pushed him. His head
hit against a carder and a bad gash was inflicted. The young boy shortly
afterwards contracted erysipelas and his head is now swollen to almost twice its
natural size. His eyes are swollen shut and his condition is very critical indeed.
