Veteran Two Wars - Capt. E. Riley Blackwelder Dies at China Grove, Aged 89

China Grove, May 27 - Capt E. Riley Blackwelder died at the home of his son, 
Gaither G. Blackwelder this morning.

Mr. Blackwelder was 89 years old and was married twice. His first wife was 
Elizabeth Demarcus and his second one was Jane Lowrance.

Captain Blackwelder is survived by two sons, G.G. Blackwelder and John V. 
Blackwelder, and one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Patterson, of Concord.

He served in the Mexican War in Company C, First Regiment, and also during the 
latter part of the late Civil War.
