Rowan Co NC
Col. John Brandon of Rowan Co NC was accidentally killed in Salisbury NC on
Wednesday 03 May 1837 while felling a tree, it crushed him to death about 4 pm
and he died about 11pm the same evening; [looks like his death first published
in Salisbury NC on the 6th of May; notice published 17 May 1837.

Some NC Deaths from the book “Genealogical Abstracts from Newspapers of the
German Reformed Church 1830-1839”, by Barbara Manning; extracts from the
newspaper The Weekly Messenger of the German Reformed Church, published in
Chambersburg, PA. “Notice” refers to the date of publication in The Weekly
Messenger of the German Reformed Church.  Added information by this submitter is
in brackets [  ].
