Casper, a well-known business of Winston-Salem, N. C. died Friday morning at Villa de Acura Coahuila, Mexico, from heart failure. A message conveying the news was received by his family at Winston-Salem, from John D. Lambe, the son-in-law of the deceased who has been with Mr. Casper in Mexico for the past few months; he was 55 years old. Mr. Casper left Winston-Salem to go to Mexico where he is having a modern whiskey manufacturing plant built. He had complained to friends at Winston-Salem, of heart trouble before he left but it was not thought to have been of a serious nature. The deceased came to Winston-Salem about 30 years ago from ROWAN COUNTY where he was born. He was associated with W. B. Ellis in the tobacco manufacturing business for a number of years, and later he entered the same business for himself. He was in business for many years at Winston and many other points in the county. He was one of the organizers of the Basketeria stores of Winston. The remains will be shipped to Winston for interment, although it will require six or seven days to reach the city. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Casper, one daughter, Mrs. John D. Lambe, and one son John L. Casper, Jr. He is also survived by his father James L. Casper of China Grove. Written by a friend, P. J.
