HOLDER DEAD. YOUNG SALISBURIAN PASSES AWAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS. Special to The Observer. Salisbury, Nov. 20.---S. J. Holder, a prominent citizen of this city and c county, died this morning at 3 o'clock at his home in Salisbury. He had s suffered a gradual physical decline for two years but not until six months ago h had he felt any alarm. He went to the mountains in search of health during the s summer but received very little benefit. About six months ago he went to John H Hopkins for surgical treatment but was told there that his case was hopeless a and he returned home to die with his people. Mr. Holder was 34 years old and leaves a wife and four children. He had served the county well as its superintendent of the road force and during his administration the roads of the county were repaired and laid more rapidly than they had ever been during the history of the county. Personally he was a lovable man and his death creates general sorrow. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Episcopal church, Rev. Dr. F. J. Murdock officiating.
