Wed. July 25, 1827  North Carolina Journal
   DIED, in Salisbury, on the 27th inst., ALFRED MACAY, in the 32nd year of 
his age. His death was produced by a large drought of laudanum, taken by him 
in a moment of the deepest depression of spirits: -- an act of rashness in 
itself, over which his friends mourn, and which they pity and forgive, as 
having proceeded from an excess of that sensibility, which properly regulated, 
is the parent of much virtue.
