Thurs. Sept. 13, 1860   North Carolina Argus
   JAMES A. McNEELY, SR., was found dead in the woods, two hundred yards from 
his residence, which is near the Iredell line in the Western part Rowan, on 
Wednesday afternoon last. He was in the enjoyment of usual health up to the 
time of his death. He left home about 11 o'clock to go to a close neighbor's 
house, but failing to return according to promise, he was sent after and found 
dead. A coronor's inquest and post mortem was held, and the jury returned that 
he had died of apoplexy.-- Salisbury Watchman
