The following item is from the Bible of John Dill, dated 1820: " Lydia Dill, daughter of Peter Dill of Rowan County, North Carolina, married James Copeland, son of Nicholas Copeland of Orange County, Virginia at the Salisbury Courthouse on the 3rd day of April, 1769. Bondsman was his uncle, William Copeland. Witnesses: John Yoakley and Thomas Maxwell."
