We acknowledge ourselves indebted to the State of North Carolina in the Sum of 
five hundred pounds and (?) we bind ourselves our heirs --- to pay by these 
Presents: Conditioned That no lawful Objection Shall hereafter by shewn why 
the Rites of Marriage should not be celebrated between William Bowan (sic) & 
Elizabeth Potts agreeable to --- of the same Date with this obligation. ___ 
Witness our Hands & Seals This 10th Day of March
