In the name of God Amen. I Philip Bostian of the county of Rowan and State of North Carolina being of sound perfect and disposing mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and format following that I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner Item first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife ELIZABETH BOSTIAN one cow and calf one bed and furniture one spinning wheel two pewter dishes three plates six pewter spoons two iron pots two chairs out of my pots now in use all of said property to be returned at her death and officially divided among my children. I also give unto my wife an equal part of the money that my son JACOB has to refund to his brothers and sisters in consideration of his ------- of my land also I wish my wife to have a child’s part of ninety dollars that my son JACOB owes me for the purchase of a piece of land, however it is to be understood that my son JACOB is to have no part of any of this money or property, and at my wife’s death for all that I have given her shall be equally divided between all my children except my son JACOB. Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my daughter and law MOLLY BOSTIAN fifty cents in lieu of other property, although my will is that her daughter CATHERINE by my son GEORGE have an equal share with the other children and my will and desire is that all the property that I gave unto my son GEORGE, my daughter ELIZABETH and my daughter CHRISTINA also my daughter CATHERINE that they or their representatives for them at my death make a just and true return of the same or the value or as near as can be ascertained. So that my children that have not had property given them may have as much as the four that I gave off property to, and then to all to have share and share alike except my son JACOB and my will and desire is that any property not particularly given away or money shall be divided among the children above named. And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son JOHN BOSTIAN and my son in law JOHN PAHEL executors of this my last Will and Testament making all other and former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of December 1828.
