ROWAN COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Battley Bryan, 16 Dec 1810 ----¤¤¤¤---- Source: Rowan County NC Will Book Vol. G page 173 Written: 16 Dec 1810 Probated: Feb 1811 surname: Bryan, Berryman, Harris In the Name of God Amen I, Batley Bryan of the County of Rowan and State of North Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following... I Bequeath my Soul to Almighty God in hopes of a happy Resurrectin through the Merits of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried at the discreation of my Executors being after named, and as touching there wordly things wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I Batly Bryan after all my Just debts and funeral charges are settled or complyed with, I then give and Bequeath unto my wife elisabeth Bryan all the Property I have now in Possession, that is to say Joseph and Randle and Milly and the Money Rising out of the Sale of Sharlot, to be put to the use of purchasing of a negro girl, that also to go to the use of my wife her Natural life or Widowhood and then my desire is that at the death or Marriage of my wife Elisabeth Bryan that the negroes shall be divided as follows, I give and Bequeath all my Stock and Block Houshold and Kitchen furniture unto my said wife the said time, then I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Berryman a Negro Girl named Mille and her increase. I also give and Bequeath the incrase of Milly to the Heirs of my daughter forever. I also give and Bequeath unto my Daughter, Frances Harris a Negro girl that I purchased out of the money and her heirs forever, in case said Daughter should not sue for and recover a Negro man named Vinson, But if she should sue for and recover the said Vinson then the Negro girl to return to the children of my Daughter Mary Chaffin. I also give and Bequeath to my Son Brackston Bryan my largest feather bed and furniture and my Surveying Instruments, and Books. Given under my hand and seal this Sixteenth Day of December 1810.
