State of North Carolina The Name of God Amen I Hermon Butner of North Carolina Rowan County being old But in good hea[l]th of Body and of perfect Sound mind and memmory but Calling to mind the mortallity of my body and Knowing it is appointed for all men to Dye Do make and ordain This to be my Last will and Testament in manner and form following first of all I give my Soul into hands of almighty God my body to be Buried in The Earth in a Christian Like manner at The Discression of my Executor here after Named Nothing Doubting but I shall Reseve The same again by The mighty power of God. Now as Touching my Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me with for beyond my Desests I give and Dispose of in The manner and form following firsts of all my Will is that all my just Debt be paid out of my personal Estate. Item I give unto my wife her Dower allowed her as The Law Directs of all Rail and personable Estate. Item I give unto David Butner Son of Adam Butner Desesed one horse saddle and Bridle. Item I give unto my gran son Hermon Walton fifty pounds to be paid to him with in Twelve month after my Desese if there is so much to be reised out of my personal Estate if it cannot be Reised out of my personable Then his when he arives to The age of Twenty one years he must have fifty acres of Land out of The [Tract?] I Now Live on or The worth of it in money at The Choice of my Executor hereafter Named. Likewise I Leave him ten pound in money to pay for his schooling. Likewise I give him the sd Herman Walten my granson all my waring Cloaths. The Rest of all my Estate Rail and personable I give unto my Daughter Martha Walton and her husband Benjamin Walton. I also appoint Benjamin Walton and his wife Martha Walton Executors of This my Last Will and Testament Revoking and Disannulling all other Will or Wills by me hereto fore mad[e] allowing this and No other to be my Last Will and Testament.
