Cain of Rowan/Davie County, NC - 1832 In the name of God Amen, I, Thomas H. Cain of Rowan County, State of North Carolina being Very Sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, Calling to mind the mortallity of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say first of all. I give and recommend my soul to God who gave it and recommend my body to the earth from whence it came to be buryed with a decent Christian buryal at the discresion of my friends, and as touching such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me in this life with, I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form to within-. I give to my beloved son John Linster Cain too adjoinin tracks of land lying and being in the County of Rowan ajoining Henry Hendricks, Daniel Cain (Sen) on the waters of Dutchmans creek. To Daniel J. Cain my beloved son one track of land lying on the waters of Dutchmans Creek ajoining Daniel Cain & Samuel Beeman in the county of Rowan known formerly by Thomas Beemans place. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Cain My home plantation, one negro girl named Sarah, All my Horses Cattle Sheep and Hogs, all the grain on hand, waggon gearing farming tools, Household & kitchin furniture after paying my just debts to have and hold the balance during her Natural life and at her deseas, the above property to be sold at publick sale and the money Equally divide between My three beloved Daughters Namely Lizus Jane Cain, Lewesor Marian Cain, Elizabeth Haden Cain. I appoint my trusty friends William Cain & James Frost My sole Exetors to this my last will and testament and desire that they rent the too plantations until my too sons become of age and The products applyd to the schooling of My Sons & Daughters.
