Gillespie, grandson of Thomas Gillespie Sr. He was born in 1766 in Rowan County, N.C. and died December 8, 1830 in Salisberry, S.C. Will: made 'while in a low and infirm state of body' on October 7, 1830. Wife Nancy, the home plantation while a widow, and later to my son James A. Sons: James A. (wants him to live on the home plantation), the negroes Casper, Sam, Parker, Andy and Esther, the land next Abel Cowan's old field & old school house. Next my son Thomas Gillespie which I had bought of Issac Gillespie, the land next--Irvine bought of Thomas Gillespie, the land bought of William Dancy, the land bought of Lidia Wallis; Thomas C., negroes Vardy, Peter. Joseph G., negroes Mingo, Hecter, Eady & Ford. William L. (under 16 years of age) $300, negroes Randolph & Abner. Daughters: Nancy Cathy Gillespie (under age) $600, negro Clary. Flora Pamela (under age) $600. Thomas McCoy Gillespie is now living on the land I bought of him & his wife, so he may remain upon it if he pay in crops. My wife gets the Foster tract, the Knox tract, the Graham tract, the Locke tract & the Cowan tract, also negroes Ceaser, Harry, Alfred, Alsay & Mary. Exers. sons JosephG. & James A.
