Will of John Garrett

In the name of God Amen I John Garrett of the parish of St Luke on the County of
Rowan & province of  North Carolina through the abundant Mercy & goodness of
God, tho weak in body, yet of a sound & perfect understanding & memory do
constitute this my last Will & Testament and desire it may be received by all as
such Imprimis. I bequeath my  Soul to God my  my maker beseeching his most
precious acceptance of it through the Merrits of my compassionate redeemer Jesus
Christ throu this Hope & Confidence I render up my Soul with Comfort and
beseeching the most holy most merciful & glorious Trinity one God most holy most
merciful & gracious to prepare to prepare me for the Time of my Disolution &
then to take me to himself into that place of Rest which he has prepared for all
that love and fear his holy Name Amen Blessed be God.  Imprimis I give my body
to the Earth from whence it was taken in full assurance of its Resurrection from
there at the Last Day As for my burial I desire it may be dicent without Pomp or
Hale at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named, who I doubt not will
manage it with all prudence. As to my worldly Estate I will and positively order
that all my Debts be paid Item I give to my two Sons in law Michil Myers &
Martin Wollox one Tract of Land lying & being in the place known by the Name of
Horsehow Neck containing three hundred & sixteen Acres of Land to be equily
divided between them the sd Myers & Wollox whom I impower to dispose of as they
shall think proper. Item I give to my son Daniel Garrett this house & Tinniment
I now live on with all the Apertunancess there unto belonging with all Crop &
grain that is reapt & whatever is on the ground the rest of my movable Estate I
give to my son Daniel Garret and to my two sons in law Mychal Myers and Martin
Wollox to be equally divided betwixt them except my deceased wifes close they
are to be equally divided between my Daughter Mary Myers & Cattrin Wollox And I
do constitute my son in law Michal Myers & my trusty Friend Jeremy Green to my
Executors of the my last Will & Testament and Trustees for my Children In
Witness whereof I hav hereunto set my Hand & Seal this fifth Day of August in
the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty seven.
