WILL of JAMES, James WRITTEN: January 24, 1793 PROVED: 1798 The 24th day of January AD 1793 I James James of the County of Rowan in the State of N. Carolina Yeoman being of sound mind & memory thanks be to God for the same do make & declare this my last will & test: in manner following Principally & first I recommend my soul unto the hands of God who gave it & my body to the earth to be buried in a decent & Christian manner at the discretion of my executor herein named not doubting but that I shall receive the same again at the general resurrection & as Touching such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless Me. I give & dispose of the same in the following manner & form. Imprimis my will is & I do order that all my just debts & funeral charges be paid & discharged. Item I give & bequeath unto Elizabeth my well beloved wife all my personal & moveable estate, to enjoy her heirs & assigns forever, likewise I give & devise unto Elizabeth my wife half the plantation I now live on to have & enjoy during her natural life. Item I give & bequeath unto my nephew James James son of my brother James the plantation I now live on being half plantation after my decease & the other half after the decease of my wife Elizabeth. Item I give & bequeath unto my nephew James James son of my brother John James, one hundred acres of land part of hundred acres, late taken out of the office, to be divided State line, my nephew James James is to have the end being Wosrealer land, to be held & enjoyed by my said nephew James James his heirs & assigns forever. Item I give & bequeath unto my niece Catharina Williams daughter of my brother John James one hundred acres of land being the other part of two hundred acres, late taken out of the office, to be held & enjoyed by the said niece Catharina Williams her heirs & assigns forever. Item I give & bequeath unto sister Rachel Shoels, children, the sum of twenty shillings, Pensilvania currency to be paid in two years after my decease. Item I give & bequeath unto my brother Thomas James children, the sum of twenty shillings, current money of Pensilvania to be paid in two years after my decease. Item I give & bequeath unto Elizabeth Aron children the sum of twenty shillings Pensilvania currency to be paid in two years after my decease. My loving wife Elizabeth, & my nephew James James is to pay my just debts & legacies; also I do appoint sole executors of this my last will & test: hereby revoking all every former wills by me made confirming this to be my last will & test.
