B 1781-1791: Vol. C 1792-1803 Http://www.copies1918.com/rowan-b.html Written: December 10, 1791 In the name of God Amen! the 10th day of December 1791. I Peter Kane of Rowan County & State of N. Carolina being in health of body & of perfect mind & memory, thank be given unto God. Therefore calling to mind the mortality of body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will & test; that is to say principally & first of all I give and recommend my soul to God & my body to the earth, to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors, hereafter named, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection. I shall receive the same again through the mighty power of God & as touching such wordly goods where with it had pleased God to bless me in this life I give, devise & dispose of in the following manner & form. (Imprimis) it is my will & I do order that all my just debts & funeral expenses be paid & satisfied out of my ______ estate. Item I give & bequeth to my two sons Leonhard Kane & Abraham my homestead plantation, wheron I now dwell which I purchased from Henry McCollock & from said State lying in said County on both sides of Farmers creek including three hundred & ninety acres be the same more or less & also my wagon utinsels to them their heirs & assigns forever. I likewise order that my two said sons Leonhard & Abraham shall maintain Catharine my well beloved wife on my said plantation during the time she remains my widow. I further order that my two said sons Leonhard & Abraham shall pay to my two sons Peter & Jacob Kane thirty pounds each after my decease. page 236 Item I give & bequeth to my daughter Susannah, two cows & one heifer, & such moveables as my other Daughters have had. Item it is my will & I do order that after my wifes decease my two executors or either of them; shall sell my moveable estate that is left & also sell & sign & seal & deliver deed or deeds, for the conveyance of my lot of land that I purchased from Henry(Linder?) lying is said County on both sides of Salisbury road containing two hundred & sixty acres & the money arising from the said sales, shall be equally divided between my three sons hereafter named & my three daughters, to wit Jacob, Peter, & John Kane, & Elizabeth, the wife of Daniel Wagoner & Catharine the wife of Peter Wordon & Susannah Kane. And lastly I do make, ordain, constitue & appoint my two sons Leonard Kane & Abraham Kane my only & sole executors of this my last will & test: & I do, hereby revoke & dis____ all other former will & test: In testymony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal, the day & year above written, signed, sealed, published & declared.
