I WILLIAM LUCKEY of the County of Rowan and State of North Carolina being a little indisposed but of a sound mind and memory blessed be God calling to mind the immortality of my body and that it appointed for all men to die do this 9th day of September A.D. 1825 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following. First I recommend by body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors here after named. Second I give and bequeath to my beloved wife MARY my three negroes FEBA, JACOB and FARMER to be hers her life time or so long as she may remain my widow. Third I give to my son JAMES the plantation I now live on with all the Horses Cows Sheep Wagon & geers Farming utensils Household & Kitchen Furniture and the three negroes named FEBA JACOB and FARMER to be his after the death of my wife which negroes I have put into the possession of JAMES at this time for the support of my self and wife as long as we may both live But should an accident happen so that the property of JAMES LUCKEY should have to be put to sale then the negroes FEBA JACOB and FARMER is to be put in to the possession of my wife who may do with them as she pleases as long as she may live after that to the use of JAMES LUCKEY heirs if he may have any Fourth I give to my son JOHN Five dollars and to my grandson WM. A. LUCKEY a horse to be valued at seventy five dollars to be paid to them by my son JAMES Fifth I give to my son SAMUEL and horse to be valued at Eighty dollars to be paid him by my son JAMES Sixth I give to my daughter JINCY One Hundred Dollars to be paid her in five years after my death by JAMES LUCKEY Seventh I give my daughter POLLY One Hundred Dollars one horse saddle & Bridle valued at $80 for the horse two cows one Burro two beds and furniture one Table and Cubbord and Kitchen Furniture And JAMES LUCKEY is to let my daughter POLLY live with him free from paying board while She remains Single and to furnish her with such fine clothes as she may stand in need of free from any charge the money to be paid in five years after my death the other property of POLLYS to be paid when needed the money and property to be paid hereby my son JAMES Eighth that JAMES LUCKEY takes care of my wife during her lifetime and that hereafter her death have her Buried in a decent Christian manner lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my two sons JAMES and JOHN LUCKEY my Executors of this my last Will and Testament Ratifying and confirming this and no other In witness whereof I do sign seal publish and deliver the same in the presence of S.
