I JAMES LUCKIE of North Carolina – Rowan County being weak in body but perfect in mind and memory do make and ordain my last will and testament and as to the Property wherewith it has pleased God to bestow upon me I will and bequeath in the following manner. 1st. I wish all my lawful Debts to be justly paid 2nd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife SARAH LUCKIE her living of my plantation, with my negro man farmer and his wife ELIZA and they children that they have and may have to be kept with them until they become old enough to be hired out for wages – likewise three mares Bet, Silver, Dave these are not to be disposed of but to remain on the farm to support the family her choice of Four Milk cows and four young ones twelve head of sheep twenty five head of hogs her choice six hundred bushels of corn one hundred bushels wheat with a sufficient quantity of oats to support her stock, eight hundred pounds of Bacon with a sufficient quantity of Farming utensils to work the farm, four beds and furniture, with all the other furniture that is in the house & kitchen, sixty pounds of coffee and sixty pounds sugar, with all my leather that is at the tanyard, with all the iron that is on hand, this property she is to hold as her own her lifetime or during her widowhood. 3rd I give and bequeath to my son William all the land that I hold, at the death or marriage of his mother and likewise the rent of what lands ** out 4th What money arises from the property that is sold I leave to be divided equally between my two daughters viz. KATHARINE & ELIZABETH 5th What negroes is unwilled to be hired out until KATHARINE comes of age, and the proceeds of the hire to be equally divided between my three children viz. KATHARINE, WILLIAM, and ELIZABETH after their schooling is paid out of it, and paying to JAMES LUCKIE son of JOHN LUCKIE two hundred dollars 6th I give and bequeath to my brother JOHN LUCKIE my negro man JACOB The negroes that is unwilled when my daughter KATHARINE comes of age is to be equally divided between my three children viz. KATHARINE, WILLIAM AND ELIZABETH I do hereby acknowledge this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.
