I ROBERT LUCKIE, of the County of Rowan, being very weak in Body but of perfect Mind & Memory, Thanks be given unto God; calling unto Mind the Mortality of my Body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament. That is to say principally & first of all I give & recommend my Soul into the Hand of almighty God that gave it & my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial, at the Discretion of my Executors, Nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I give demise & dispose of the same in the following manner & of Form. First I allow all the land lying on the south side of the Creek to be sold by my Executors, it beginning at William Cowans Line & running the course up to the old Bridge and I allow the remaining part of the Land lying on the North side of the Creek to be for the life of my Wife & Children during her Life or Widowhood, and at her Death or Marriage the Land to be sold equally divided between NANCY & the rest of my younger children. Also I give unto my dearly beloved wife MARY one third of the movable Estate together with her Bed & Furniture & the young black mare with the Blaze on the forehead. Secondly, I give unto my well beloved Daughter MARGARET ten pounds which is to be paid out of the Whole of the Estate. Thirdly, I give unto my daughter MARY ten pounds which is to be paid out of the Whole of the Estate. Fourthly, I allow unto my Daughter RACHEL five pounds which is to be paid out of the Whole Estate. Fifthly, I allow my Daughters ANCEY, JANNET, HANNAH, MARTHA, & LYDIA to be equal Sharers in the remaining part of my Estate whole sale entirely Heirs of all Lands or Money, Goods or Chattels. I likewise constitute, make & ordain my wife MARY & my brother John LUCKIE to be my sole Executors & guardians. And I do hereby utterly dispose, revoke, & disannul all & every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequests, & Executors by me in any Ways before names willed & bequeathed ratifying & confirming this & no other to be my last Will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred seventy two.
