In the Name of God Amain,

I James McBroom of the state of North Carolina and county of Rowan; Being 
of sound and perfect mind and Memory (Blessed be God) Do this Eithteenth(?) 
Day of May In the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety 
nine; Make and publish this my Last will and Testament In the maner 
following -----------
That Is to say --------
I Give and bequeth to my true and loving wife my young Bay mare and Colt 
and her riding saddle and three Cows of her own choosing out of my stock 
and on Bed and furniture; and the whole of my Iron potts and her spinning 
wheel and all the salt in my house and all my Desser(?) furniture four 
chairs with two plows and tacklings - and all my stock of Hogs and ten 
sheep and her mintainance on my plantation her lifetime and all of my 
wagon and guns to the use of my wife as long as she lives on my plantation 
and to be at the Disposal at her ???.

I also give and Bequeath to my son John my Bay stud horse and one con and 
my riding saddle.  Also give and Bequeath to my Daughter Elisabeth my Bay 
mare and Colt; named fly and a Riding saddle and I all on a Bridle to be 
purches to her out of my Estate ----
I also Give and Bequeath to my son Henery my Bay are named spark
I also Give and Bequeath to my son James my rifull gim with shot Bagg and 
powder horn.
It is further my pleasure that the remaining part of my property Except 
what is bequeathed away be sold at publish sale; and all of my just Debts 
and other occurring charges be paid --- And the whole remainder of the 
amount of sale be Equally Divided among my young Children namely James  
Able  Ann  Isaac  Jeney  and Alexander
And it is further my will and pleasure that all my waring apparel be 
Equally Divided among my sons

And it is Lidewise my pleasure that after my wife Decease; that my 
plantation be sold and Equally Divided among all my sons and Daughters

And I Do hereby make and ordain my Worthy friends Abram Gillian and John 
Dobbins Executed of this my last will and Testament --- In witness Thereof 
I the said James McBroom have to this my Last will and Testament set my 
hand and seal the Day and Year Above written.
