1762 April Court
In the Name of God Amen.  I JOHN McGUIRE of Roan County in the Province of 
North Carolina and in the Parrish of St. Luke being in perfect Mind and Memory 
make this my last Will and Testament ; first I commit my Soul to God who gave 
it and my Body to the Dust to be buryed in a christian decent Form and then 
all my funerall  charges to be then all my lawful Debts to be discharged and 
appoint my true and trusty Friends HUGH McCREARY and JAMES SMITH as my 
Executors: and first I give and devise & bequeath to my Sons EDWARD McGUIRE 
and JOHN McGUIRE  the whole and sole of my lands to be equally divided between 
them and likewise I order my Wife ANNA McGUIRE to have a comfortable living as 
long she remains my Widow: and I give and bequeath  to my Daughter SARAH 
twenty pounds and my riding horse; and the residue of my Estate my  Goods 
Bonds with all other Properties to me appertaining to be equally divided 
amongst my children and I do constitute and appoint HUG McCREARY and JAMES 
SMITH the whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do 
hereby utterly revoke and disannul all former Bequests Wills and Legacies by 
me heretofore in any wise let or made declaring rattifying and confirming this 
and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have 
hereunto set my Hand and Seal this third day of March in the year of our Lord 
one thousand seven hundred and sixty two
