I, James Ross of the County of Rowan and State of North Carlina being weak in body, but sound in memory, Blessed be the Lord, do this first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty eight do make and publish this my last will and Testament in the manner following: Viz: and first I do decree all my Just Debts to be paid and that my body may be buried in a decent Christian like manner as the discretion of my Executors may think proper and second five hundred and ninety acres of land I leave to be equally divided between my Dear and loving wife Jean Ross and four children.
