November Sessions 1813
In the name of God Amen.  I GEORGE SIFFORD of the County of Rowan and State of 
North Carolina, being weak and frail in body, but of perfect mind and memory, 
and calling to the mind the mortallity of my body, that it is appointed to all 
men Once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament (that is 
to say) principally and first of all I recommend my Soul unto the hands of God 
who gave it, and my body to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial 
at the discreation of my Executors, and as touching those Worldly Goods 
wherewith it hath Pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of 
them in manner as follows (viz.)

1st I give unto my beloved wife CHRISTIANNA the full possession of my 
plantation as long as she shall remain my widow, and as to my other property I 
will as much of it to be sold as will pay my just debts and the ballance to 
remain in the hands of my wife CHRISTIANNA as long as she remains my widow, 
but if she marry again I will that she Shall have no more than an equal childs 
part with my children, so that she my wife Shall have one equal childs part of 
all my property and possessions.

2nd I will that my Sons each and every of them Shall have privilege to go to 
Trades of their own choice at Eighteen years of age

I do hereby Constitute and appoint WILLIAM SIFFORD Executor of this my last 
will and Testament, and do hereby make Void all other wills by me heretofore 
made, ratifying this and no other to be my last will and Testament, in witness 
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 19th day of September in the 
year of our Lord 1813
