Rowan County, NC - Will of Conrad Sloop, 1820 Conrad Sloop Will Some of Conrad's descendants crossed over in to Cabarrus County. In the name of God Amen: I Conrad Sloop, of the County of Rowan, in the State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and Memory in calling to mind the uncertainty of this life, and and that it is ordained that all men are born to die, do this day of June in the year of our Lord Crist Anno Domini on thousand eight hundred and twenty make and publish this my last will and testament in the following manner and form, and first and principally I commend my soul to God who gave it to me, and my body to the earth form which it came in hopes of a joyful resurrection through the merits of my Savior Jesus Christ, and as to the worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to help me I dispose of the same in the following manner. First, I give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary all my personal property to be to her use during her natural life. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my son John Sloop, my large Samon (sic) Book to him, his heirs and assigns, forever, together with my written Hymn Book, to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Barbara, my loom and tackings (sic) to her, her heirs and assigns forever. Fourthly, my will is that after the Decease of my wife Mary, then all my property of every Description not heretofore bequeathed be sold at public sale by my executors to be hereafter named, and the monies (sic) arising from the sale thereof be equally divided amongst all my children, namely Elizabeth, Mary, Susannah, Catharina, John, Peter, Barbara, Henry, George and Jacob, Share and share alike, having due regard that each one of my children holds and possess all that I have heretofore given them exclusive of this legasy (sic), to them thier heirs and assigns forever. Fifthly and Lastly, I hereby nominate & appoint my loving sons, John and George Sloop, Executors of this my last Will & Testament, hereby ratifying & allowing this & no other to be my Last Will & Testament. In testimony of which I, said Conrad Sloop have hereunto set my hand and sael the day and year first herein written.
