Rowan Co. NC - Will of Michael Swink

In the name of God Amen, The second day of October In the year of our
Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty one. I Michael Swink of North
Carolina Rowan County, Being verry sick and wake in Body, But of perfect
mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore,- Calling to mind the
mortality of my Body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to Die,
Do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament. That is to say
principally and first of all I give and Recomend my Soul into the hands of God 
that gave It, and for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth, to be Buried
in a Christian Like and Decent manner, at the Discreation of my Executors.
Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same
again by the Almighty power of God.-------And as Touching Such worldly Estate 
wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I Give, Devise,
and Dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

First That my funeral Expense (rest of sentence was in crease of paper
and torn from folding making it 
impossible to read.)
Secondly I Give and Bequeath unto my Eldest Son Leonard Swink the
Plantion or Tract of Land he now 
lives on, being Entery Land.

Thirdly I Give Michael Swink one Shilling Sterling.

Fourthly I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Henry Swink the plantation or
Tract of Land on Grants Creek (whereon I live) Together with all all and
Singular the Houses, mills Mesuages and Tenements thereunto 
Belonging, by him Freely to be possed and Enjoyed. Together with all my
household Goods, moveables All my stock of Horses, Cattle, Sheep, and
hoggs. Nevertheless I do hereby Give And Allow (or order that my 
son Henry Give and allow) my wife Mary Swink hir Living on and out of the
premises mentioned in this fourth Clause.-----
And I do hereby Likewise, Constitute, make and Ordain my said Son Henry
Swink my only And Sole Executor of this my Last will and Testament, And do
hereby Utterly Disallow, Revoke, and Disanull, all and Every Other former
Testament, wills and Legacies Bequists and Executors, by me in any ways before 
this this time nam’d, Will And Bequeath”d; Ratifying and Confirming this
and no other, to be My Last will and Testament,-----In witnes whereof I
have hereby Set my hand  seal the day and year above written.
