I Jacob Wagoner of the County of Rowan and State of North Carolina being very sick and weak in body but in perfect health, mind and memory, thanks be given to God, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul to God and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting as at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate herewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in following manner and form. First, I give and bequeath to Daniel my eldest son eight hundred acres of land and these negroes, one fellow and a boy ____. Also I give and bequeath to Jacob my son four hundred acres of land and one negro fellow and Sarah a little negro girl. Also I give unto my son Joseph three hundred and sixty acres of land, one negro fellow one little girl and boy. Also, I give to David my youngest son a negro wench and two boys. And I do hereby utterly disallow, avoke and disannual all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequeaths, and executors by me in any way before named, willed, and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of July AD 1786.
