NC Submitted by Bev Schonewolf <4bevswolf@mail2.lcia.com> Will of Thomas Wilson 1775 Will of Thomas Wilson Rowan Co., NC Will Book A p. 208 May Court 1775 I Thomas Willson in Roan County in North Carolina on the waters of abits Creek being but wake of Body but in perfect Memory Calling to mind the uncertainty of time hear doth make this as my last Will and Testament making void all other will or wills legacies whatsoever made or done by me by word or writing and this taking for my last will and Testament first I allow my Body to be desantly Buried by Executors hereafter named next all my just Debts to be paid. first I bequeath to my beloved wife Jean Willson her Bead and Bead Cloathes allso her Spinning wheel & all the puter & wooden Vesalls of all kinds and one Ironpot such as she will choose, the largest Excepted allso a chest now _______ now in the Home one Horse or Mare & one Cow both of her own choosing such as in my possession at my Death also her own saddle. -- I allow my son George one hundred and forty one acres of land on Polecat Creek joyning Old Powell and not to cross the Creek the Remainder to be Divided in two equall Shares and them two that Enjoys these two ___ is to keep their Mothers Cow and Horse or mare Winter and Summer at their Cost allso to build her a sufficient House or Cabbin on such part of the land as she shall think fit most proper allso find her every year during her widowhood two hundred weight of Sufficient Meat allso twenty five Bushels of grain such as she will choose, allso Cut and hall her plenty of fire wood Every Year further I allow my son George Willson to pay twelve Months after my decease to pay my son John Willson whom with my wife I appoint Executor six pounds proclamation Money allso the two that enjoys the other part four Years after my Death to pay said John Willson two pounds Each allso my land on abits Creek to be Divided In two equal Shares and to be given to two such as their father shall name at his death or at my time & them two shall pay my son John Houghy two years after my decease two Cows with calf each one won I allow my Goods not willed away to be Turned into Money to Deed the land in Abits Creek and if any remains I allow my son John Willson four pounds twelve Months after my decease; I will and allow to my son Jacob my largest Ironpot, Iron Crook & pot hooks and after the Land is deeded and all legacies paid the overplush to be Equally divided amongst all my Children _____ Dated this 23 day of the month 1769 as witness my hand and Sale, In Presence of us _____- Jacob Henshaw, William Rork (his mark) Thomas Wilson (his mark and seal) ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
