Turn east on the first road past the river, Hines Rd. Go about a mile until you cross a creek. D. Floyd To get to this cemetery from Forest City, NC take Church St. south and go on across US74A to the next cross-roads at the top of the hill and turn left. Go about a mile or a little more until you come to another cross-roads just past a church on the left, Turn right and go to the second road on the left. The cemetery is in the circle at the end of the street. I was there August 26, 1997. There are 10-15 graves with field stones but only one readable marker. Doggett, William 67y, 21d March 31, 1852 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE GREEN CEMETERY By W. D. Floyd To getto this small cemetery from Ellenboro, NC go west on US74 business but don’t cross the railroad just out Piney Mountain Road along side of the tracks until you come to Piney Mountain Church on the left, about a mile. Turn right in front of the church, onto Old Hollis Road, and go about 1.3 miles until you come to Ledford Road on the left turn and go out it until you come to Cherry Creek Road on the right, turn on it and go a few hundred feet and it turns to the right. Another hundred or so feet ti turns back to the left. The cemetery is on the left in this turn. Cherry Creek Road is just a dirt driveway to some mobile homes. You can also go out Hollis Road and take a left on Wall’s Church Road for less than a half mile and then turn back to the left on Old Hollis Road and find Ledford Road. I was at this cemetery September 25, 1997 and there is just one readable marker and enough field stones for maybe three or four more graves. Green, Wm.
