MARTIN vs. JOEL MARTIN Original Attachment Levied on Negro Girl In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant, JOEL MARTIN, is not a resident of this State, it is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the North Carolina Journal, printed in the Town of Fayetteville, notifying the said non-resident Defendent to be and appear at our next Superior Court of Law to be held for the County of Rutherford at the Court House in Rutherfordton, on the third Monday after the fourth Monday in September next. Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition. Other judgment will be taken pro confesson and the matter heard ex parte as to him.
