Forest City Courier, Feb. 7, 1966
Mrs. Mattie Priscilla Campfield, 62, died at her home in Henrietta at 1:30 p.m. 
Saturday after a long illness.  She was the daughter of the late Caleb and 
Lucinda Philbeck Smart.  Survivors include three sons, J.W. Campfield and 
Thomas Campfield, both of Henrietta and Charles Campfield of Route 3, Chesnee, 
S.C.; four brothers, William Smart of Cliffside, Thomas Smart of Henrietta, 
Reed Smart of Ellenboro and Odell Smart of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mrs 
Verdie Bownes (Bowens)of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Gladys Blalock of Boiling 
Springs, S.C. and six grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at 3:30 today 
at the First Baptist church with Rev. M.W. Stallings and Rev. James Estep 
officiating.  Burial was in Cleveland Memorial cemetery.  Harrelson Funeral 
Chapel in Henrietta had charge of arrangements.
