Well Known Gilkey Lady Will Be Buried Thursday Afternoon At Tanner's grove 
Church. Ill With Pneumonia a Week

Gilkey, May 9 - Mrs. W. F. Doggett, age nearly 68 died at 4:30 o'clock, 
following an illness of pneumonia. Her death was unexpected and was a shock to 
her family and many friends.

Funeral services and interment will be held at the Tanner's Grove Methodist 
church, Thursday at 3 p.m. Mrs. Doggett is survived by eight children as 
follows; Mrs. Chas. Shober and Mrs. Tillman Bridges, Forest City; Frank and 
Coke Doggett, Rutherfordton; Mrs. Frannie Smith, Glen Olen and Chas. Doggett, 
at home. One brother survives, Mr. Joe F. Groves, of this section.

Mrs. Doggett was a devoted member of the Gilkey Methodist church and was a kind 
mother and a most excellent neighbor. She enjoyed a wide circle of friends and 
relatives.
