Sampson County, NC - Jonathan & Everitt Carr Petition, 1839 State of North Carolina } Court of Pleas and Sampson County } Quarter Sessions Aug't Term 1839 To the Justices of sd Court The Petition of Jonathan Carr and Everitt Carr humbly Shewith unto your Worships that their father Jonathan Carr late of said County died seized and possessed of the following lands and teniments in said County to wit Beginning at a stake on the run of Reaves dam creek swamp Buntings corner 4 poles above the main road, thence as his line So 37 wt 6 poles, thence down course 1/4 poles to a stake near the road thence So 2 1/2 Et crossing the road 21 poles So 87 Et 20 poles So 35 Et 22 poles So 53 Et 14 poles So 50 E 48 poles to a stake by a water oak at the Mechims ditch run thence up the run So 32 Wt 9 poles So 74 Wt 8 poles to a Birch on the side of the run Buntings other corner of a 23 acres deed thence the lines of sd deed So 30 Wt 10 poles to a Stake thence So 52 Wt 12 poles to a Post Oak thence So 35 Wt 34 poles Which said land divided to your Petitioners and Harry B. Carr and Ann Turner who intermarried with Alfred Turner and also to the Heirs at Law of (blank) Rawls namely Mary, Ann, Elizabeth and Rachel Rawls And your Petitioners further shew unto your Worships that the said Harry B. Carr and Ann Turner & husband resides in the State of Mississippi that the said (blank) are minors and that your Petitioner Everette has been appointed their guardian Your Petitioners therefore pray your Worships to Decree a Partition of said lands among the Heirs at Law of the said Jonathan Carr dec'd and for that purpose that five Commissioners should be appointed to make such partition as is prayed for & that they may present their proceedings to the next Term of this Court and that your Worships will grant such other and further relief on the premisis as the nature of their case may require and as shall deem needed & right to your Worships & we will ever pray [signature illegible] Source: Sampson Co, NC Estates Records 1784-1923 Carson v.
