Silvanah Ganey, Widow of Noel Ganey, dec'd, 1808

North Carolina Sampson County
In obedience to the annexed writ I James Holmes Sheriff of the county aforsd 
on the 27th day of August 1808 and in the 33rd year of the independence of the 
State aforsd attended by Abraham Naylor, Samuel Peters, Mark Porter, Holly 
Stricklin, John Stricklin, Hermon Stricklin, Cato Lee, William Tew, Duncan 
McPhaill, John Honeycut, John Porter and Henry Porter freeholders unconnected 
with Silvanah Ganey widow of Noel Ganey dec'd or the heirs or devisees of sd 
Noel Ganey by consanguinity or affinity and entirely disinterested by me 
summoned came in proper person to a certain plantation whereof the sd Noel 
Ganey dec'd died seized and possesed lying on the west prong of the Marsh 
Branch adjacent to John Jackson's corner containing 42 acres agreeable to a 
deed of conveyance from William Honeycut to the sd Noel Ganey dec'd and 
including the dwelling house or mansion of sd Noel Ganey dec'd in he most 
generally dwelt next before his decease and all the buildings and improvements 
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the same which being done I 
the sd Sheriff and freeholders aforsd put the said Silvanah Ganey in 
possession of the premises. In witness whereof the said freeholders have 
hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year aforesaid.
