Hudson upon entering into bond in the sum of twenty thousand dollars with James Oates, Jas. H. Stevens and William Gregory as sureties bond filed and adm'r qualified. August Term 1863 Maria Hudson widow of John Hudson dec'd Ex Parte - Petition for years provisions. In this case it is ordered by the court that James A. Warrick, John C. Monk, J.B. Cox, and __ Thornton be appointed a committee to lay off years provisions as prayed for on petition and report to next term of this court. August Term 1863 Maria Hudson widow of John Hudson dec'd vs Heirs at Law prayed for in the petition - Petition for Dower - This cause coming on to be heard it is ordered by the court that writ of Dwoer issue to the Sheriff as prayed in the petition. 30 Oct 1863 - State of North Carolina, Sampson County. Mrs. Mariah Hudson Dower and thirds in the lands of John Hudson, dec'd First lot - known as the Wm. R. King land including the dwelling of which John Hudson dec'd resided when he died, adjacent to run of Ready Branch, old King Mill Pond, Lindsay Branch, 146 acres. Also another piece adjoining the last named land, on the Ready Meadow Branch, 25 acres. Also the Sophia King dower not included in said dower to use as long as said Sophia King lives. November Term 1863 Mariah Hudson widow of John Hudson dec'd vs Heirs at Law - Petition for Dower - This cause coming on to be heard upon petition and report it is ordered that the report be confirmed and registered and judgt against petitioner for costs. February Term 1864 Ordered that Marah Hudson be appointed guardian for her children upon entering into bond in the sum of thirty thousand dollars with Lewis C. King and William Gregory as security whereupon she files her bond. February Term 1864 Mariah Hudson widow of John Hudson Ex Parte - Petition for years provision. Report returned and confirmed judgment vs administrator for costs. February Term 1864 Maria Hudson guardian of minors of John Hudson dec'd vs Lewis C. Hudson and Haywood Hudson minors who being duly sworn says upon her oath presented a full true and correct statement of her receipts and disbursements. Hudson, Hepsey A. Hudson, William R. Hudson and Joseph Hudson by guardian Mariah Hudson respectfully showeth unto your Worships that they are tenants in common of a tract of land situated in Sampson County adjoining the lands of A.
