Pipkin The undersigned having been applied to according to law by Mrs. Sophia Pipkin widow of Wm. R. Pipkin Dec'd to lay off a year's support out of said estate, proceeded to allot the same out of the stock provisions &c on hand. We find her family to consist of herself and one child and we appropriate to her the following articles (viz) All the meat and lard on hand, $23 Kitchen furniture, $25 Household, $125 Hoes, spade, $2 Bees, $1 Fodder, $4 Cotton seed, $7 Plow gear & boxes, $1 2400 shingles, $8 Potatoes, $2 10 bushels corn, $16 Flour, $4 Goods in the store at first cost to the amount of $182 Total, $400 All of which is respectfully submitted 10 Feb 1875 A. Giddens being sworn doth say: That William R. Pipkin, late of said county, is dead, without leaving any last will and testament; and that Sophia A. Pipkin is the proper person entitled to Letters of Administration on the estate of the said William R. Pipkin. Further, that the value of said estate, so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application, is about $210.00, and that Cora E. Pipkin is entitled as heir and distribute thereof. J. W. Giddens Sworn and subscribed before me, this 17th day of Feburary, 1875 D. A. Cullbreth, Probate Judge ---------- State of North Carolina, Sampson County In the Probate Court I, Sophia A. Pipkin do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I believe that William R. Pipkin died without leaving any last will and testament: and that I will well and truly administer all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the said William R. Pipkin and a true and perfect inventory thereof return as provided by law; and that all other duties appertaining to the charge reposed in me, I will faithfully and honestly perform with the best of my skill and ability: So help me God. Cullbreth, Probate Judge ---------- North Carolina, Probate Court Sampson County Know all men by these presents that we Sophia A. Pipkin, John W. Giddens and C. A. Thompson are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina, in the sum of four hundred and twenty dollars, to the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, jointly and severally, our executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed this 17th day of February, 1875. The condition of the above obligation is such, That if the above bounden Sophia A. Pipkin Administratrix of William Pipkin, deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory, and account of sales of all the real estate, and all the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the deceased, which have or shall come to her possession or knowledge, and the same do exhibit into the Probate Court of said county, within three months after the date hereof, and do well and truly administer according to law, all the goods, chattels, rights and estate, that may be sold for the payment of the debts of said deceased, which shall at any time come to the possession of the said Administratrix or to the possession of any other person for her; and further, do make a true and just account of her said administration within two years after the date hereof, and all the rest and residue of said proceeds of real estate, goods, chattels and credits, which shall be found remaining upon her account, (the same being first examined and allowed by the Judge of Probate) shall deliver and pay to such person, as the same shall be due unto; and shall obey all lawful orders of the said Probate, or other court, touching the administration of the estate committed to her, and shall faithfully execute the trust reposed in her as such Administratrix according to law, then this obligation to be void and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Pipkin dec'd Judgment in the above entitled action was rendered for the Plaintiff, and against the Defendant, the 26 day of Febry, 1876 for the amount of $76.45. Interest from 4 day of Jany, 1875. Costs Plaintiffs $2.65 I certify that the foregoing is a true transcript from my docket of the judgment tendered in the said action. This 15 day of March 1876 J. A.
