Hudson Levy on Land Ordered to notice issue to parties to come in and prosecute or suit will be dismissed. ----- August Term 1867 Clifton Ward vs W. R. Hudson and Axy J. Hudson Levy on Land This cause coming on for trial the following papers with the endorsements thereon were returned to court as follows to wit: State of North Carolina Sampson County To any lawful officer to execute and return within thirty days (Sundays excepted) upon are hereby commanded to take the body of Wm. R. Hudson and Axy J. Hudson if to be found in your county and have them before me or some other Justice of the Peace in and for said county to answer Clifton Ward in a plea of twenty four dollars and seventy cents due by former judgment herein fail not. Given under my hand and seal the 24th day of Sept. 1866, Jesse Wilson J. P. Endorsed executed John Dudley Const. ----- Oct 20th 1866 Judgment against the defendant for the sum of seventy four dollars and seventy cents with interest from the 23rd day of Feb 1860 until paid with cost. Jesse Wilson J.P. ----- Novr 24th 1866 Execute and sell enough of the defendants goods and chattels lands and tenements as will satisfy the above judgment and all costs. Kilba Lassiter J.P. For want of goods and chattels I have levied the above executions on two tracts of land as the property of A. J. Hudson and Wm. R. Hudson described as follows: One tract home place adjoining the lands of Loyd West, J. C. Warren and others situated on the east side of Seven Mile Swamp supposed to contain one hundred acres. The other tract adjoining the lands of J. C. Warren, Samuel Smith and others also on the east side of the Seven Mile Swamp supposed to contain forty five acres. Nov'r 25th 1866. John Dudley Const. It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that five days notice has been given the defendants. It is ordered that the magistrate's judgment for the sum of twenty four & 70/100 dollars with interest from 23rd day of Feb 1860 until paid with costs be affirmed and made the judgment of this court and that Vendi Exponas be issued to the Sheriff to sell he land described in the executions according to law. ----- Note: Axey Hudson deeded her home tract of 100 acres (mentioned above) to her son Coleman J. Hudson on 4 Oct 1866. It was registered in Probate Court on 7 Dec 1869.
