Manarin Coates, Coleman G., Sergeant, enlisted in Sampson County February 18, 1863 for the war. Present or accounted for until transferred to Captain Abner A. Moseley's Company NC Troops (Sampson Artillery) December 1, 1863. 2nd Co. A 36th Regiment NCT (2nd Regiment NC Artillery) Coates, Coleman G., Private, transferred from 2nd Company A, 36th Regiment NC Troops December 1, 1863. Present or accounted for through December 1864. Admitted to hospital at Wilmington January 21, 1865 and transferred to Greensboro the next day. Returned to duty February 23, 1865.
