Sampson County, NC - Kilty Daughtry's Inquiry, 1862 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NOTICE: I have not heard from my son, Kilby Daughtry, who belongs to Capt. McRae's company, 7th N. C. State Troops, since the 6th day of August last. He was then near Gordonsville, and was sick. I will be thankful to any officer of soldier of Capt. McRae's company, of the 7th State Troops, or to any one else, who will inform me of the condition or fate of my son. My Postoffice is Blackman's Mills, Sampson county, North Carolina. Kilty Daughtry Dec. 9, 1862 Source: The North Carolina Standard; Wednesday, December 10, 1862 Note - Kilbry Daughtry enlisted on March 13, 1862 a Private, age 24 from Sampson County, in Company C, 7th Infantry Regiment N. C. He was wounded in the arm on June 27, 1862 at Gaines' Mill, Va., and died of disease on August 10, 1861 in Lovingston, Va.
