Why would not some day in the six labor day's do just as well? Soon we will have used up all the Sabbath day's as memorial days. The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath Rev. Fred T. Collins in the course of his sermon last Sunday evening while speaking of those whom God loves to honor and does honor spoke very touchingly of Mr. J.T. There will be a greand re-union, a grand review some day and the Captain of the great host will be and is now the Captain of our salvation. There is a feeling of pain about this last time the old Veterans are to meet. The spirit of these fellows whom we love to honor is strong but the flesh is weak and growing weaker every day Tuesday afternoon the small son of Mr. John Autry, who keeps a restaurant on the corner of Vance and Sampson streets, went into a building and finding no one about proceeded to strike a match and light a lamp, placing the lighted lamp near a window. The curtain at the window ignited and in a short time but for the timely arrival of persons attracted by the cries of the child, the building would have been destroyed. Several garments belonging to the family were burned up. ______________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
