Murder
In Sampson county, a few days ago, Mr Alfred Flowers was killed by John
Barfield. The parties were neighbours and had been drinking together. A quarrel
ensued, in the course of which Flowers is said to have seized a chair to strike
Barfield, but fell over it, and Barfield stabbed him. Barfield was arrested and
is in jail.
