MARGARET ANN DARDEN LEE

   Mrs. Margaret Ann Lee, 86, wife of Owen M. Lee of the Franklin community, 
died at four o’clock Wednesday morning, January 12, in the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Paul S. Lowe, on the Franklin-Suffolk highway, after an illness of several 
years.

   A member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Mrs. Lee was a daughter of the 
late Benjamin and Clarsie Sutton Darden of Sampson County, N.C.  She had resided 
in this community for the past 30 years, her home being on the Franklin-Windsor 
road.

   The deceased is survived by her husband; five daughters, Mrs. J.E. Needham of 
Pilot Mountain, N.C., Mrs. H.F. Byrd of Faison, N.C., Mrs. W.M. Whitfield of 
Goldsboro, N.C., and Mrs. Thelma E. Spears and Mrs. Paul S. Lowe of Franklin; 
three sons, Rev. P.O. Lee of Raeford, N.C., Hubert Lee of Winston-Salem, N.C., 
and W.J. Lee of Franklin; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and 
several nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Lee will be conducted this afternoon at three 
o’clock at the Royal Funeral Home in Clinton, N.C., followed by interment in the 
Clinton Cemetery.
