Mrs. Betty Grey Wilkerson Miller Matthews,70, of Clinton died Saturday at 
Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton, NC.
  Mrs. Matthews, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Frank 
Graham Wilkerson and Lillie Vinson Wilkerson Honeycutt and the widow of her 
first husband, Robert Vernell Miller, Sr.
She was a retired sales associate with Belks and was a member of Immanuel 
Baptist Church.
  She is survived by her husband, Gerald V. Matthews of the home, a son, 
Robert Vernell Miller, Jr. and wife Connie of Clinton, two step-sons, 
Vincent G. Matthews and wife Rema of San Jose, CA; and Steven A. Matthews of 
Clinton, a brother, Frank Wilkerson and wife Jo of Clinton, and a sister, 
Glenda W. Elliott and husband Rodney of Wilmington, a grandchild, April Lynn 
Miller of Clinton and a great grandson, Hunter Miller Avey of Clinton.
  The family received friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the 
Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home of Clinton and other times at the home.
  The funeral services were held at 2pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 
Immanuel Baptist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Tim Ameen officiating.
  Burial was made in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
