JOHN CARRELS LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN:

I John Carrel senior being sick but of sound mind and memory and calling to mind
the uncertainty of the [ ??    ] of life do make this my last will and testament.

First I give and bequeath my soul to almighty God that gave it and my body to
the ground to be duly buried as my executors hereafter named shall direct [ ?  ]
and as the worldy [   ?      ] which I have pleased God to [         ?          ].

Item first I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Carrel my whole estate as
lands and all utensils during her life or widowhood except such things as shall
be hereafter mentioned.

Item second I give and bequeath to my beloved son John Carrel the plantation
whereon I now live with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging after the
death or until marriage of his mother Mary Carrel.

Item third I give and bequeath all my [  ?    ] estate to be equally divided
amongst my beloved children here named as my son John Carrel, Joseph Carrel and
my daughter Dorcas Carrel and Rachael Carrel after the deceased or until
marriage of their mother except one bay horse known by the name of Gallant which
same horse I desire to be sold and the [ ?   ] to be equally divided as the rest
of my estate.

Item fourth I leave and desire my beloved wife, Mary Carrel and my beloved son
John Carrel to be my executors to see that all the above directs be duly executed.

Set my hand this 12th day of January 1761.  John Carrel (seal)
