WILL of REDDIN HARE
North Carolina
Sampson County

I Reddin Hare of the aforesaid county and state being of sound mind but 
considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my 
Last Will and Testament.

First, my executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable 
to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral expenses together 
with all my just debs and out the first monneys which may come into his hands 
belonging to my estate

Second, I give and divise to my beloved wife Marenda all the lands that I may 
have at the time of my departure of this life for her natural life and then at 
her death to go to Kilby L. Strickland his life time at his death to go to his 
children if any if not to go to my lawful heirs and there assigns forever if the 
said Kilby L. Strickland will stay with me and my wife Marenda our life time and 
take care of us but if the said said Kilby L. Strickland fails to stay with me 
and my wife Marenda and take care of us our life time my lands is to go to my 
lawful heirs and there assigns forever

Third, I give and bequeath to my said wife all of my personal property of 
whatsoever it may be all notes and evry thing that I may possess at the time of 
my departure her natural life and at her death it is to go to Kilby L. 
Strickland and Elisabeth E. Baggett in equal halfs to them and thear heirs 
forever except anuff to pay all of my burial expences and my just debts

Fourth,I herby constitute and appoint my trusty friend A. B. Giles my lawful 
executor to all intents and purposes to execut this my Last Will and Testament 
according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause 
thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and 
testaments by me here to foremade in witness whereof I the said Reddin Hare to 
hereunto set my hand and seal this 26 day of March 1897.

and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence 
subscribe our names as witnesses thereto
