In the Name of God Amen I Francis HILL of the County of Sampson in the State of North Carolina, being in a low State of health, but of Perfect Sound mind and memory, and knowing that it is once appointed for all men to die, do make and declare this to be my Last will and Testament in manner and form following, to wit, it is my will & desire that all my Just debts and Funeral expense be paid and discharged as quick as possible, out of the most Perishable part of my estate by my executors hereafter mentioned_________ I give and bequeath to my beloved Son Bennett Hill and to his heirs forever all my land in Sampson County containing by Estimation five hundred and Sixty nine acres, be the same more or less, which said Land I have heretofore deeded to him in fee simple but in case any doubt Should arise Disputing the Land I do hereby again absolutely devise and bequeath & give the same to him and his heirs forever______________ Also I give and bequeath to my aforesaid son Bennett Hill & his heirs forever, my Negroe woman Slave named Hagar the Bed and furniture that he now has in his possession all my Cyder Casks, all my Peach Stands, one Table and my Hand mill_________ I lend and not give to my Daughter Martha Thornton and my soninlaw John Thornton, my Negroe woman Slave Named Hannah, during said Martha's natural life and no longer, then the said Hannah and her increase If any; to be sold at publick auction by my executors giving Six months Credit, and the money arising from sd Sale to be equally divided amongst the lawfull heirs of the aforesaid Marthas body Share and Share alike when her oldest child arrives to the age of eighteen years I give and bequeath to my Daughter Aley WESTBROOK and my soninlaw William WESTBROOK my Negroe Girl Slave named Grace to them and their Heirs forever_______________ I give and bequeath to my Daughter Hester HOBBS and to my Soninlaw Simon HOBBS, my Negroe girl slave named Beck (Buk?) to them and their heirs forever___________ It is my will and desire and my particular instructions to my Executors hereafter to be made mention of that as quick as possible after my Demise Sell my Negroe Slave Isaac, and all the rest of my nonwilled property at Publick auction upon Six months Credit, and equally divide the money arising from said sale between my Daughters Martha, Aley and Hester Share and Share alike, I also give to my three before mentioned Daughters all the household Furniture and property each of them Respectively at this time have in their possession to them and their heirs forever__________ Lastly I consititute my son Bennett Hill and my beloved friend Josiah BLACKMAN executors to this my last will and testament hereby Revoking disannulling and making Void all former wills by me made, In witness whereof I the said Francis HILL have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty first day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight Hundred Signed Sealed and Declared by his the testator to be his last will Francis X hill (Seal) and Testatment in presents of mark us Sampson LaS(SITER) (?) sener John THORNTON ~ Robert LASSITER
